William Wood

William "Bill" Wood, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully at his home in Schuyler, VA on December 26, 2022. He was 84.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Thelma Wood, as well as his wife of 44 years, Mary "Midge" Wood and his daughter-in-law, Charlene Wood.

Bill served in the US Air Force and was later employed with the Baltimore City Fire Department. He retired from the fire department and became a self-employed Contractor prior to retiring in Schuyler, Va. Not only did he retire there, he was "100% hands-on" for the building of the house he and Midge lived in. Bill was always motivated to keep busy and always willing to help others when needed. He was an honest, patient man with traditional values and was respected by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his sister Carol Nugent of Several Park, MD; his Daughter: Pamela Aman of Houston, TX; two Sons: William C. Wood of Leesville, SC and Michael P. Wood; his Stepson: Jon Perry of Baltimore, MD; 2 Stepdaughters: Kim Butler of Pasadena, MD and Wendy Milam of Hanover, MD. Bill is also survived by 4 Grandchildren: Katie Aman of Madrid, Spain; Jennifer Wood and Bill Wood II of St. Petersburg, FL; and Reanna Butler of Pasadena, Md. Bill is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber with Pastor Hillary Evans officiating.
