Thelma Lucille Sale Fortune

Thelma Lucille Sale Fortune, 86, of Arrington passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at her residence.

Born April 13, 1936 in Hanover County, Virginia she was a daughter of the late James Irving Sale and Minnie Southall Powers Sale.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ryan Fortune, Sr.

Thelma was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston and former member of Hunton Baptist Church in Glen Allen, VA.  She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Nelson Lioness Club for 10 years. 

She is survived by her son, Thomas “Ryan” Fortune, Jr.  and his wife, Chasity  of Arrington; three grandchildren, Joshua Underwood, Tiffany Grant, and Clarissa Grant; a great-grandson, Watson Underwood; a niece, Linda C. Thorp; a great niece, Kendal Nicole Thorp; and friends, Patricia W. Morris and Nancy S. Anderson.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Mt. View Cemetery in Lovingston with Pastor John P. Campbell officiating.
