Susie Ann Stratton Jones

Susie Ann Stratton Jones, 80, died September 19, 2023 at Hospice of Piedmont's Center for Acute Hospice Care.

Susie was born on November 27, 1942 to the late Robert E. and Helen G. Stratton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband’s, Dec. Harry L. Jones, Sr. and Rev. Roger Vaughan; her sisters, Elizabeth Barber, Ester Johnson, and Mary Randolph; her brothers, Robert W. Stratton, John H. Stratton, Sr., and Daniel Stratton; her daughter-in-law, Florence Jones and her granddaughter, Kimesha M. Jones.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. She served as the church clerk, she sang in the church choir, was a member of the women's auxiliary and was mother of the church.

She was a strong woman of faith. She loved to read books by Danielle Steel. She also loved to play Solitaire on her computer.

She is survived by her children, Harry L. Jones, Jr., Albert J. Jones, and Jennifer L. Hearns; five grandsons, one granddaughter and eight great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Shipman with Rev. Ernie Morse officiating.

Interment will follow in the Stratton Family Cemetery in Shipman.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and request that all those planning to attend must wear a mask.
