Patricia (Patty) Elaine Martin Coins

Patricia (Patty) Elaine Martin Coins of Afton, Virginia slipped from this life and entered her heavenly home on Friday May 27^th. 

Patty was born and raised in Grayson County, Virginia. 

In heaven she joins her loved ones:  Mother, Wilma Combs Martin; Father, Charlie Wayne Martin; second Mother, Anne Purcell Martin; Brother, Billy Wayne Martin; and Son Melvin Lee Dooley, Jr.

 She is survived by her devoted and loving Husband, Randy Coins of Afton; Son, Matthew Dooley and Girlfriend Elizabeth Brandt of Afton; Son, Joshua Coins and wife Delana of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; son, Kevin Coins and wife Katasha of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; daughter, Rebecca Jewell and husband Scott of Afton; daughter, Rosanna Coins of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; and daughter-in-law, Gloria Dooley of Galax, Virginia.  Also surviving are her granddaughters, Shannon Dooley and wife Heather Snead, Courtney Jewell, Elizabeth Gibson and husband Tyler, Victoria Dooley, Lydia Dooley, Kalena Coins, Salem Coins, Grandsons, Jamie Jewell, and wife Katy, Kason Coins, Jesse Coins, and Jonah Coins, as well as her special family Sonia and Cerryan Anderson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She had five great-grandsons, Jacob, John, Joshua, Jonah, and Taylor, who were the light of her life,

Patty had a servant’s heart and was the personification of the Golden Rule, loving others much more than she did herself. Everyone she met became part of her family. She loved giving and spreading joy and she gave all she had and more. Patty went into her world preaching the gospel, and sometimes, on occasion, she used words. Her life was her sermon. 

Patty’s life will be honored and celebrated on Tuesday May 31^st at 3pm at Mountain View Full Gospel Church 1005 Smith Road, Afton VA with the Rev. Scott Jewell officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Patty’s home church, Mountain View Full Gospel Church. 

Interment will follow in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Afton.
