Orval Dillon Saunders

Orval "Buddy" Dillon Saunders, 88, passed away on August 1st, 2024 at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville, Va. Even though he has left us, his loving heart left a beacon of light for our whole family. We will remember his generous, loving, and funny soul.

He was born January 17th, 1936, in Craig County, Va. He was the son of Orval W. B. Saunders and Hazel Lorraine Long Saunders.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leona Jean Saunders of 65 years. Sisters, Mary Ellen Drummond, and Ruth Edna.

Orval is survived by his son, Tony Dillon Saunders and daughter, Debbie Jean Morris, and his son in law, Dennis Lee Morris of Afton, Va. His siblings, Peachie Hughes, Ralph Saunders and Monica of Troy, Va. 

He was a proud "Buddy" to his 5 grandchildren, Nina, Chasity, Nikki, Kristy, and Katrina. His 10 great grand children Kiara, Julian, Lexi, Gabrielle, Jazzy, Ryan, Isaiah, Makenzie, Madison, and Wade and his 2 great- great grandchildren, Kyree and Lillyana. 

A graveside ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 5th, 2024 at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Afton, VA.
