Mary Frances Buchanan Armentrout

Mary Frances Buchanan Armentrout, 88, of Nellysford passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Choice Health Care of Waynesboro,VA.

Born July 2, 1934 in Campbell County, VA a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Buchanan and Laura Smith Buchanan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Armentrout, Jr. and  sister, Betty Jo Morris.

Mary was retired from the University of Virginia of Charlottesville.  She was a member of the Nelson County Garden Club, the Red Hat Society, D.A.R. Chapter member and an active member of Rockfish Valley Baptist Church.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving are her brothers, Harold T. Buchanan and wife, Inez and Edward E. Buchanan and wife, LaVern; daughter, Laura Anne Craig and husband, Jerry; son, Edward L. Armentrout, III and wife, Tracy; four grandchildren, Jerry Craig, Jr. and wife, Erika; Justin Craig and wife, Emily; Mary Elizabeth Armentrout, and Madelynn S. Armentrout; four great grandchildren, Jamison, Jared, Josie, and Jones.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Rockfish Valley Baptist Church in Nellysford with Pastor Justin Braun officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
