Loretta Virginia White

Loretta Virginia White 88, of Charlottesville Va departed this life on Monday, September 16, 2024.

 Loretta Virginia White was born on July 25, 1936 in Charlottesville, Va. She was the daughter of the late

Lucas Washington Sr. and Annie (Irving) Washington of Shipman, Va.

 In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Nelson White; brothers, Lucas Washington Jr., Henry Washington and Tyrone Washington Sr.; sister, Mary Wilkerson and daughter, Marilyn Ann Loving.

 Loretta lived a life full of love and enjoyed when family was around. She loved shopping and eating out at her favorite restaurants Aberdeen Barn and Red Lobster. Her favorite times were hanging with family and friends as well as eating pizza, talking, laughing, watching movies, dancing and listening to music. She loved to spend time talking to her siblings.

 Loretta attended Nelson Training School and spent over fifty years working for University of Virginia in the blood bank as a blood technician.

 Loretta leaves memories to cherish by her three children, James A. Gray of Charlottesville, Virginia, Robert Wayne Gray of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Brenda Moore of Charlottesville, Virginia; three sisters, Pearl Murphy of Washington DC, Shirley Ross of New York and Betty Spencer (Roy) of Arrington Va; son-in-law, Leonard Loving Sr. of Shipman Va.; grandchildren, Rolanda Loving-Norris of Lovingston Va., Leonard Loving Jr. (Erin) of Shipman Va., Lemont Loving of Shipman Va., Chadwick Loving of Waynesboro Va., Krystal Loving (Marissa) of Arrington Va., Yolanda Gray-Brandstrom (Nicholas),of Wisconsin, Simone Brickhouse of Stanley Va., Derek Gray (Karen)Stanley Va.; great grandchildren Adrian, Kelsie, Tyler, Jaydn Sr., Michelangelo, Kristian, Trey, Leonard III, Alexia, Landon, Locklan, Tessa, Jermayne; Great Great Grandchildren Yessinia, Aiden, Ryleigh, Jaydn Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews.

 A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Bright Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Lovingston with Rev. Vincent Vaughan officiating.
