Linda Perdue Leap

Linda Perdue Leap passed away peacefully late Thursday evening, September 15, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Louisa surrounded by loving family. She spent the last few weeks of her life being greeted daily by several birds who came to the windows each day to watch over her and bring a smile to her with each of their visits.  Her daughters and her brother EC were blessed to have this precious time to share love, laughter and life during the final weeks before she left for her next journey.

Born May 5, 1944 in Snow Hill Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Perdue, Sr and Inathe Godfrey Perdue. Linda is survived by her loving children Jerry Oren Jordan, Jr (Linda), Darlene Jordan, Debi Brown; sisters Patsy Turner (Bill) and Becky Mohlere; brother Elijah (EC) Perdue Jr; Grandchildren Logan Jordan (Terri), Jeremy Jordan, TJ Stargell (Melissa), Alex Brown (Sarah), Anna Brown (Nick), Schuyler Hackett, Jacob Woodson (Sydney); great grandchildren Aiden, Christian, Charlotte, Lexci, Logan, Liam, Zelah, Cheyenne, Quincy, Camryn, Deaaron.

Linda’s family moved to Virginia in 1956 and she lived the reminder of her life here, while maintaining her family ties to the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  From a young age Linda’s caring nature led her to help with taking care of family members, friends and members of the community.  When most were beginning to look forward to children graduating and planning for retirement, Linda decided to go back to school for first her business administration degree and then enrolled in Nursing school to pursue her lifelong dream of nursing.  She spent many years since as an RN working with the elderly with a close-knit work family.  In her free time Linda loved spending time on cruises, enjoying her good luck with slot machines, traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She shared a special bond with her brother EC as his sister / guardian and will be greatly missed by him as well as the rest of her family and friends.  We love you and will miss you so until we meet again.

A memorial celebration will be held for family and friends in her honor at Bethany United Methodist Church in Norwood VA on Sunday October 9 at 1 pm with Pastor Hillary Evans officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family would welcome donations toward final expenses, donations to help with these costs can be made to Wells Sheffield Funeral Chapel, PO Box 27, Lovingston, VA  22949.

Arrangements by Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel of Lovingston (434-263-4097).
