Jane Elizabeth Wood Williams

Jane Elizabeth Wood Williams, 78, of Shipman (Williamstown Community) passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Albemarle Health and Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville.

Born November 25, 1946 in Charlottesville, Virginia (UVA) a daughter of the late Herbert C. Wood and Josephine Jones Wood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Walter C. Williams; an infant daughter, Karen E. Williams; brother, Montague Wood; half-brother, Marvin Wood; half-sisters, Charlotte Wood, Ollie M. Covington, Marion Wiles, and Frances Coates; sisters-in-law, Rebecca P. Wood and Mary B. Wood.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Williams (Anna); brother, William Wood; half-brother, Herbert Wood (Peggy); half-sisters, Virginia Glover and Mary Mitchell (Les); two granddaughters, Megan Mawyer (Sam) and Brittany McCormick (Jonathan); great-grandson, Jaxon and niece, Mary J. Pippin.

She was owner and operator of Williams Grocery for 36 years. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Norwood.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Martin officiating.
