Dorcas Bragg Caul of Faber, VA died July 13, 2022 at the age of 96.

Dorcas was born July 19, 1925 in Shipman, Virginia and was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Bragg.
Dorcas worked at James Lambert’s Store in Faber earlier in her life and later at Nelson Manufacturing Co. in Lovingston, VA. In her spare time, she wrote poetry and for many years did so for her church, Rock Spring United Methodist in Faber where she has been a member since 1953 having sung in the choir there for many years as well.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel R. Caul of Faber, VA; granddaughter, Tammy C. Mawyer of Crozet, VA and her son Chuck’s special friend, Betty Gayle Huber of Charlotteville, VA. Also surviving are two great-grandsons, Aaron Matheny (Kim) and Andrew Matheny (Brittany) and four great-great granddaughters, Riley, Chloe, Lily Ann, and Paisley Matheny.
Also, left to cherish her memory is her special sister-in-law, Sadie C. Hunt of Covesville, VA; devoted cousins, Eunice Gunter and Nora Thompson of Charlottesville, VA; nephew, Joseph E. Spalone of Long Island, NY; three special nieces, Cynthia Brown of Palmyra, VA, Debra Green of Earlysville, VA and Theresa Staton of Covesville, VA who did her hair for many years; two dear friends, Shelby Kitchen and Diana Tyler who always treated her like their family. Tammy’s mother, Mary Lou Fitzgerald and brother, Jason Fitzgerald still took time for Nanny as well. Her Faber friends and other family members are too numerous to list, but they know she treasured each and every one of them.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber with Pastor Hillary Evans officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church social hall.
