Charlotte Ann Morris, 84, of Shipman VA, died peacefully on February 4, 2025. Born on July 1, 1940, in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Frederick J. Drumheller and Margaret V. Snead Drumheller.
Charlotte was a devoted wife of the late Warren T. Morris. She was also a loving mother to Tammy Branch Ponton (Ronnie) and Kimberly Morris Reyna (Rob), a cherished grandmother to Kristina Ponton Rivera (Jeremy), Benjamin Ponton (Delfina Montalvo), and Nicholas Tisdale, and a beloved sister to Douglas Drumheller and Larry Drumheller. She was also the loving great-grandmother of Jeremiah, Lillian, Aiden, and Asher Rivera and Gabriela Bonney. She was predeceased by her brother, William "Billy" Drumheller and her first husband, Franklin O. Branch.
A 1962 graduate of Jefferson Professional Institute, Charlotte dedicated her career to the Human Resources Department at Sprint/Centel. Outside of work, she enjoyed shopping, home decorating, and cooking. She was also an avid fan of Law & Order, American Idol, and Dancing with the Stars.
For over 40 years, Charlotte was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston, VA, where she actively participated in the Women's Missionary Union of Calvary, was a member the church's choir, and volunteered on the church's flower committee. Her faith was an important part of her life; she lived it out through generosity and kindness. Charlotte never had an unkind word to say about anyone. She was a quiet and family-oriented woman who adored all babies and children.
Christmas was a magical time in the Morris home, filled with love, laughter, and Charlotte's fantastic cooking. Every holiday was celebrated with a beautifully decorated home. She will be most remembered for her unwavering love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Charlotte's life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston, VA. At 10:00 a.m., the family will receive friends for visitation with coffee and pastries, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, a charity close to Charlotte's heart, reflecting her love for all children. Or, contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Nelson County Rescue Squad.
