Cecil (CW) William Brogan, Jr.

Cecil (CW) William Brogan, Jr., departed this life at the age of 75, on Monday, August 19, 2024, at UVA hospital in Charlottesville VA.

Born February 18, 1949, to the late Cecil Brogan, Sr., and Margaret Brogan, he spent his life enjoying nature and making memories in Nelson County, VA. 

CW was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Brogan and his nephew, Wayne Lawhorne.

CW leaves his loving wife of 54 years, Anna Brogan; his three devoted children, Missy (Chris) Brads, Stacy (Stacey) Tinson, Paul (Heather) Brogan; his beautiful granddaughter, Kailey (Kayden) Smith; two kind-hearted sisters, Dianne (Ron) Davis and Joyce (Sid) Vance; a caring bonus daughter, Tammy Robertson and his niece, Miranda Brogan and so many wonderful friends and family to cherish his memory.

CW proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired with over 30 years of service to VDOT, following his dad’s footsteps.

CW will be remembered for his unwavering love and support of his family and friends, his passion for logging, storytelling, dedication to VDOT and keeping the roads open and running, working on cars, trucks, mowers, and tractors, making friends everywhere he went, speaking his mind, and always having a joke or story to tell, especially about old times and family members.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with Pastor John Campbell officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
