Carrie Bernice Wicks

Carrie Wicks of Charlottesville. VA, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was born May 22, 1945 in Albemarle County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Wicks and Clara Brown.

She spent the majority of her time giving medical care to patients at home and was a member of Elk Hill Baptist Church.

Ms. Carrie is survived by her three sisters: Ernestine, Eva and Mary Wicks, four brothers: Harry, George, Jessie, and David Wicks, four godsons: James Horne, Harry Jr., Scottie Stewart, and Gus Stewart, two favorite nephews: Erik and Tony Massie, goddaughter Mary Ann Stewart, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family invites you to join them Sunday, July 30^th, 2023, to visit and celebrate Carrie’s beautiful life from 1:30 - 2:30 pm followed by her funeral service @2:30 pm at Wells-Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston, Virginia. Burial will follow at the Elk Hill Cemetery.  Repast will follow immediately at Elk Hill Church Fellowship Hall.
