Berksie Branson Ballowe Adams

Berksie Ballowe Adams went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 15, 2023.

Born in Nelson County on October 31, 1936 to Willis Elmer Ballowe and Gabe Johnston Ballowe.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert Nelson Adams, Sr. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 5 sisters, Lucille Baldwin, Carrie Woodson, Viola Burnette, Virginia Tompkins and Ann Thacker and 4 brothers, Humie Ballowe, Vernon Ballowe, Robert Ballowe and Ralph Ballowe.

Berksie was a lifetime member of Rose Union Baptist Church where she served her Lord and Community in so many ways.  She loved her Lord and loved serving him.   Berksie was employed by the Nelson County School Board as a Bookkeeper for Nelson County High School for 29 years.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Robert Nelson Adams, Jr. (Martha), Kenneth Marion Adams (Carolyn) and one daughter, Sandra Adams Sirois (Frank).

She is survived by 10 grandchildren, Amanda Thorn (Scott), Brandon Proffitt (Amy), Lauren Proffitt, Kevin Adams (Lauren), Danielle Cash, Christopher Cash, Blake Pollard (Jennifer), Jennifer Campbell (Jake), Mandy Thornton (Jerry) and Tatum Falwell (Chris); 16 great grandchildren, Brandon Lewis and Graylee Proffitt, Madison Adams, Imogen, Piper and Bentley Perks, Donovan, Helena and Rose Cash, Lailee and Hoyt Pollard, Maggie Jo, Hume and Sadie Campbell, Lucy Falwell and Caroline Thornton.

A private graveside service will be held at Jonesboro Baptist Church Cemetery on June 22, 2023 followed by a Celebration of Life service at Rose Union Baptist Church in Piney River, Va. At 2:00 PM led by Rev. Jim Hardwick and Rev. John Campbell.
