Barry Woodville Hitt

Barry Woodville Hitt, 74, of Arrington passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at his residence.

He was born February 28, 1949 a son of the late Charles Woodville Hitt and Helen Elizabeth Horton Hitt.

Barry was a truck driver for American Hardwood Industries.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Delores D. Staton Hitt; his children, Woody Hitt, Kevin Hitt, Tammy Hitt, and Timmy Hitt (Amanda); two sisters, Kay Rankin (Fred) and Temple Murray (Jim); seven grandchildren, Ricky Hitt (Sarah), Bea Gutierrez (Jacob Jones), Jose Rodriguez, Alondra Gutierrez, Abigail Hitt, Tristan Hitt, and Avaluna Gutierrez; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Barry’s memory to Wintergreen Rescue Squad P.O. Box 711 Nellysford, Virginia 22958.
