Calvin Coolidge Harris, Jr. (Cal), 70, of Faber left his earthly life behind and moved into his eternal heavenly home on October 22, 2021.
Cal was born on January 7, 1951. He was the beloved son of the late, Calvin C. Harris and Nannie Mawyer Harris. In addition to his parents, Cal was preceded in death by his sister, Fay Alene Harris.
Surviving to cherish his memory are Joe Harris, Becky Harris, Greg Megginson, his wife Victoria their children, Emma and Riley, numerous cousins and many friends.
Cal graduated from Nelson County High School. He was a member of the Adial Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ranger (CVA61), San Diego, CA from 1972-1976. He retired from the University of Virginia’s Facilities Management’s department, working at the Law School in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He loved fishing, lifting weights, gardening, watching football, and UVA basketball.
He especially loved attending Bug and Lori Megginson's annual Christmas family party.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Adial Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Michael Hevener officiating.
