​Flora Lee Barker Davis

Flora Lee Barker Davis passed away November 1, 2021 in Nelson County. She was 95.

Born April 9, 1926 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia the daughter of the late Clinton Scott Barker and Daisy Jacobs Barker.

One of eleven children, sisters Catherine Arthur of Colman Falls and Janet Reynolds of Gretna survive her.

The wife of the late Giles Thomas Davis and mother to Hilda Carolyn Davis and Giles Kirk Davis.

Flora had six grandchildren; Kimberly Davis, the late Scott Daniel Driskill, Shannon McGann, the late Dylan Barker McGann, Jessica Gauldin and Sam Davis; six great-grandchildren; Darell Allison, Joshua Driskill, Haleigh Parola, Koral McGann, Taylor McGann, and Violet Gauldin; four great-great grandchildren; Zoe, Aria, Dante, and Phoenix and so many nieces and nephews also loved her dearly.

Affectionately known as Pete, Flora lived in Lynchburg most of her life and retired from Randolph College. She was an avid runner for many years, loved to travel and loved the Virginia mountains. She lived in Nelson County since 2019.

A private memorial service at the Barker Family Cemetery in Hurt, Virginia will be planned at a later date.
